1. About Metrype and these terms
Xianzhe Chen develops Metrype, a measurement keyboard for iPhone and iPad. The app and its keyboard extension format length measurements and insert them into a text field you choose. “We” refers to the developer.
The license for Metrype downloaded through the App Store is governed by Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement (EULA). This page provides Metrype-specific usage and subscription information. It is not a custom EULA and does not replace or modify Apple’s Standard EULA.
2. Devices, permissions, and keyboard use
Automatic live measurement input requires a compatible Bluetooth distance meter, Bluetooth permission, and Allow Full Access for the Metrype keyboard. Save your meter in the app and switch to the Metrype keyboard in a supported text field. Manual number, unit, and fraction input remains available without a connected meter or Full Access.
Third-party keyboards are not available in every text field. Secure password fields and apps that disable custom keyboards use the system keyboard. Meter support depends on the specific model, firmware, operating system, and input environment; a Bluetooth logo alone does not guarantee compatibility.
Use Metrype in accordance with applicable law, Apple’s Standard EULA, and the rules of the apps and devices you use with it. Follow your meter manufacturer’s operating and safety instructions.
3. Free features and Metrype Pro
The current free plan allows ten accepted live measurement transfers per device-local calendar day. Once the allowance is used, further live measurements are not automatically inserted until the next local day or while you have an active Pro subscription. Manual input and reinserting saved history do not use this allowance.
Metrype Pro removes the daily live measurement transfer limit while your subscription is active. Pro is offered as a monthly or annual auto-renewable subscription. Both the free plan and Pro include unit and format choices, custom insertion profiles, recent measurement history, and manual keyboard input.
The subscription options, duration, and localized price are shown in the app’s purchase screen and Apple’s confirmation interface before you buy. Refer to those screens for the offer available to you.
4. Payment and automatic renewal
Apple handles Pro purchases, payment processing, and subscription renewals through the App Store using your Apple Account. Your subscription renews automatically unless you cancel before the next renewal. Refer to Apple’s purchase confirmation and subscription settings for your billing amount, renewal date, and applicable terms.
Price changes and any required notices or consent are handled under Apple’s subscription rules and applicable law. We do not receive your payment card details through Metrype.
5. Canceling, restoring purchases, and refunds
You can manage or cancel your subscription on iPhone or iPad in Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Metrype. Canceling stops future renewal; Pro access normally continues until the expiry shown by Apple, subject to Apple’s terms and applicable law. Deleting Metrype or removing its keyboard does not cancel a subscription.
To restore an eligible active subscription, use Restore Purchases in Metrype while signed in to the Apple Account used for the purchase. Restoring does not start a new subscription or reactivate an expired one. When Pro expires, the free daily live-transfer allowance applies again.
For purchases billed by Apple, request a refund through Apple’s Report a Problem service. Eligibility and approval are determined by Apple under its policies and applicable law. This page does not limit any consumer rights available to you.
6. Checking measurements and inserted text
Metrype transfers and formats readings; it does not independently verify your meter’s accuracy or the conditions in which you measure. Unit conversions, decimal precision, and fractions can round displayed or inserted values.
Check the original reading, selected units, precision, insertion profile, and final text before relying on a measurement. Check the destination field as well, especially when a profile includes a prefix, suffix, or ending action. For work that requires certified accuracy or affects safety, use the appropriate instruments, verification procedures, and professional judgment.
The license scope, warranties, and limitations of liability are set out in Apple’s Standard EULA, subject to applicable law. This page does not add a separate warranty or liability limit or exclude rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

7. Privacy and third-party services
Metrype processes measurements and settings locally and does not collect the surrounding text in the app you are typing in. Our Privacy Policy explains local records, keyboard permissions, Bluetooth, purchases, website hosting requests, and support email.
Apple purchases, meter hardware, and apps receiving your inserted text are subject to their respective providers’ terms and practices. Opening this page in a browser or an in-app web view makes normal website hosting requests as described in our Privacy Policy.
8. Updates to this page
We will update this page and its effective and last-updated date when Metrype’s usage or subscription information changes. Where required, we will provide additional notice. Publishing an update here does not change Apple’s Standard EULA or override an existing Apple subscription purchase.
